Terms of service

  • Commission bookings are to be made in advance, the time frame will depend on what time slots are available. Please be aware that Christmas is the busiest time, so plenty of notice is required.

  • A one-subject painting generally has a minimum of one week turnaround once started, and two-subject has a minimum of two weeks, but this is not a guarantee. Further turnaround information can be provided for larger, more complicated artworks, please contact the artist if required.

  • 50% deposit is required before the commission space can be booked. If the deposit is not received promptly, the booking date may be filled by another customer.

  • Reference photos must meet a certain specification - high resolution, a reasonably large file, good lighting, composition and sharpness and clarity are all factors when deciding on a photo. Please remember that the better the photo is, the better artwork can be created. The artist and client can decide together on the ideal photo from the ones supplied by the client, and the artist has the right to refuse the commission if no photos are provided that meet the specifications.

  • Reference photo must be the client’s own, or with permission from the owner

  • Separate reference photos cannot be combined in one painting

  • A minimum artwork size will be required based on the amount of subjects. Head-and-shoulders composition is best to get a detailed face, and only one or two subjects can be fit onto 30x40cm sized card. For any more than two subjects, the size and price will be negotiated depending on the photo supplied. Maximum size available is 50x70cm.

  • All artwork is supplied unframed. Framing will be required, and is the responsibility of the client. Please contact your local framer for advice and quotes.

  • All artwork remains the intellectual property of the artist. No copies or reproductions are to be made without permission from the artist.

  • The artist has the right to post images of the completed painting on social media and website and used for marketing purposes (unless a special agreement is made between the artist and client). Any sharing of the image by the client must be done from the artist’s official sources (social media or website links).

  • Courier of final artwork within New Zealand is free, and the artist takes no liability for any artwork that is lost, stolen or damaged in transit. Courier internationally will incur an additional cost to be quoted on completion, and included with the final payment.
